Steve is your local Road Smart Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) in and around Hullbridge, Hockley, Rayleigh, Basildon, Wickford, South Woodham Ferrers & Maldon.
About me
I became a driving instructor because having long been involved in education and training (see below), I wanted to continue teaching in a way that had more flexibility than a school role, but in which I could help people work towards achieving their goals. A long-held enjoyment of driving paired with my background, made the decision towards teaching driving seem a natural progression, and one I have enjoyed ever since.
As well as being an ADI, I have an extensive background in education and training with pupils from primary schools to adult learners. These experiences enable me to identify the needs of, and work effectively with, a range of learners to focus on the best outcomes for them – something that sets me apart from other local instructors.
As a qualified teacher, I have held leadership positions in both primary and secondary schools and have worked in an advisory role for teachers in other schools. I also hold a Master’s degree in education (MaEd).
I am also a qualified first aid instructor, able to teach a range of courses including First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid; additionally, I conduct monitoring and assessment of other trainers. Linked to this, I have in the past, volunteered for several years as a community first responder.
